Top Portfolio Products: Vertical Cap Rolls Out MLP Fund

New products and changes introduced over the last week include Vertical Capital Markets Group's master limited partnership (MLP) energy fund.

WHV Investment Management just rolled out two small-cap funds. Gemini and Newfound Research, meanwhile, have introduced a risk-managed global fund, and Albridge announced a new wealth-reporting platform.

Here are the latest developments of interest to advisors:

1) Vertical Capital Securities Launches MLP Energy Fund

Vertical Capital Markets Group has announced the launch of the Vertical Capital Innovations MLP Energy Fund (VMLPX, VMLIX), subadvised by Capital Innovations, LLC, of Pewaukee, Wisc.

Michael Underhill, Capital’s CIO and CEO, and Susan L. Dambekaln, portfolio manager, will oversee overall construction and implementation of the fund.

2) WHV Investment Management Launches Two Funds

WHV Investment Management has announced the launch of two mutual funds, the WHV/EAM International Small Cap Equity Fund (WHSIX, WHSAX) and WHV/EAM Emerging Markets Small Cap Equity Fund (WVEIX, WVEAX).

The funds are subadvised by EAM Investors, which focuses primarily on small-cap and microcap equity strategies that are the result of the partnership among EAM, WHV and Northern Lights Capital Group.

3) Gemini, Newfound Research Partner on Global Fund

Gemini Fund Services, LLC and Newfound Research LLC have partnered to launch the Newfound Risk Managed Global Sectors Fund (NFGAX, NFGCX, NFGIX), a rules-based mutual fund seeking to offer risk-managed exposure to global equity markets. The fund's underlying portfolio consists of 11 iShares Global Sector exchange-traded funds, which hold stocks from companies in the U.S. and international developed and emerging markets, as well as a cash component.

The fund is designed to create a long-only, unlevered portfolio of global equities, and has the flexibility to convert all holdings to cash if necessary. Newfound's proprietary investment models reduce or eliminate the fund's exposure to sectors that exhibit negative momentum, and reallocate to sectors demonstrating positive momentum.

4) Albridge Announces Wealth Reporting Platform

Albridge, an affiliate of Pershing LLC, a BNY Mellon company, has announced the introduction of the Albridge Wealth Reporting platform. The web-based data management platform featurs updated functionality.

Using the new platform, advisors can analyze and report investor performance at the individual holding, asset class, account or household levels on demand, for any time period. New platform features also include improved presentation, reporting, workflow, and analytics.
